Hi all,

Sorry this post is in english, but I don't speak german :(

I need the TCP/IP protocol for the siemens s5 and/or s7 PLC's. On another forum, someone gave me a link to a post. It seems the person in that post is able to communicate with the siemens PLC, so he must have a copy of the TCP/IP protocol.

Is there anyone that can help me finding these protocols???

Thanks!

The person in the thread you mention seems to connect an S7 to Mitsubishi. I don't know whether Mitsubishi somehow supports thie protocol or how he does it. Maybe you could post to this thread to get his attention.

S7 can use at least 2 protocols over TCP/IP:

1. A protocol from S5 times compatible with S5 ethernet communication Here you can find an example of FETCH/WRITE communication with a Siemens CP:
http://www.google.fi/groups?selm=9e2usm$g7k$1@kiosk.rzg.mpg.de&output=gplain

2. An S7-specific protocol that the programming software and all OPC servers I know use over both, MPI and ethernet connections. You can find my library for this protocol at:
http://libnodave.sf.net
It comes with a very rudimetary documentation of the protocol.
