TC3: restoring previously existing variable links

One question regarding the IP-address you mentioned. Is the IP-address of the adapter for the EtherCAT bus the same as the one through which you are connecting Visual Studio with your PLC. If so then you really has choosen the wrong network adapter and it is normal, that you couldn't go online any more.
Here are some solutions how you could "repair" this:
  • Switch off the CX, wait till all LEDs went off on the CX (Contains a UPS, so it might take some time), remove the CFast card and delete the Boot folder (found under TwinCAT->3.1), plugin the card and power up the CX
  • Try to connect to the second port, this is only possible if no realtime protocol was bound to this port. If DHCP is activated you must change the network setting of your computer to DHCP, then connect directly to the CX and wait a while, because the timeout time for a failed DHCP request is quite high. Do a broadcast search (Don't connect to the CX), write down the IP of the CX, connect via Remote Desktop to the CX and then rename the Boot folder (deletion isn't possible), reboot the CX, a new (empty) Boot folder is created and the renamed one could be deleted now. Connect the network cable to the upper connector again, now you should be able to connect to your CX again.

After doing one of these two ways you must set the right adapter for the EtherCAT master prior to activating the hardware again.

I really appreciate for the time you are investing here. Thank you again.
So, now I have deleted the boot folder and connected to the PLC. I am totally confused about the network adapter. here is the screenshot. PLease check it.netwerk adapter.JPG

Purely my mistake... sorry for that... Now I selected the PCI bus slot and the device state switched to OP succesfully, but got some error with the terminals and the LED didnt light up (may be because of the input output values.) Errors.JPGnetwerk adapter.JPG

Just got to know that the CoE stands for CAN over EtherCAT, so I dont think I should be worried about those errors. Will try changing the BOOL values for the inputs and outputs and check whether the LED on the terminals blinks. Thanks a lot for your help.

Hello again,
I tried changing the input variables values, even then the LED's on the i/o terminals doesnt light up. All the terminals are in OP state. Please help. Attaching the i/o terminal online state. thank you1.JPG

You mean you changed an output variable value, changing an input variable value in your PLC programm doesn't effect the LEDs on the terminal.
Or did you put a signal to one of the inputs and than the LED of this input didn't light up?

Hello Oliver,
I will try to explain the situation....I have loaded the solution file of CX9020 on CX5130 and imported all the i/o links to the terminals. All my variables and FB's are linked to a VISU and I am trying to operate a test stand using the VISU. The problem is... I dont know whether the LED's on the EL1809 and EL2809 should light up when the PLC is connected. The VISU has a password encyption and I entered the password correctly... but cannnot log in to the software and unable to run the software. I was worried thinking there is an issue with connection of the i/o terminals as the LED's doesnt work. My initial task for my thesis is to do some minor changes to the code ( to make the test stand connect to a Bosch indra drive using CAN open ). Please help me with whats going wrong .... Thank you very much for your time and help.

And your PLC-Programm is really in RUN. A green LED on the PLC only means, that the TC3 runtime was started, but that doesn't mean, that also your PLC programm is running. Could you please make a screenshot of Visual Studio after you went online.

I tried checking with another simple program and the I/O LED's blink as you mentioned. So, there is an error with my VISU login, will look into it. Sorry for all the trouble and thanks one again for your time and help. Cheers.
