S5LAN++/ AS511 prestanda

Hi!
I have just tested an S5LAN++ (from PI) connected to an S5 95U. The 95U was empty except from 2 DBs (PUT and GET targets). The client was an old 413-3, with a CP441-3 IT card. The 413 was also empty except from the calling organization of PUT and GET and the belonging DIs and DBs, OB1 ~ 1 ms. One link in Netpro.
I tried with Telegram lengths from 64 to 4 Words, PUT and GET every second time, and could not achieve a update rate of better than appx. 200 tlgs/minute. I know the AS511 is slow, but I was still a bit disappointed with my results. Has anyone of you guys tried this and got better response times?

AS511 kommuniziert mit 9600 Baud und im Protokoll ist einiges an PingPong enthalten. Das bremst ungemein. Darüber hinaus können bei S5, im Gegensatz zu S7, keine Operanden zusammengefasst werden. Aber da hängt es jetzt wieder von dn angefragten Variablen ab, ob diese nebeneinander liegen und über eine Anfrage gelesen werden können.

i read 40 bytes by a VB-Program from a AG 115. (AS 511 Protokoll)

all 250ms i got a packet.

Wenn der Adapter irgendwie parametriert werden kann, könnte man nachsehen ob man ein ggf. zyklisches Einlesen der DB Speicheradressen deaktivieren kann.
Es ist zwar nicht viel was man damit herausholen kann, aber immerhin etwas.

I think Rainer is pointing at the main cause. I remember I once checked the AS511 communication (PG / Steuern Var vs some S5-CPU) with Breakout and the signalling looked extremely caotic compared with the AS512.

@Senator. My response frequency is fairly equal to yours. So I recon I have reached the max speed limit.:???:


My idea with this test was to use the S5 CPU as an plain IO 'scanner'. Intermediate, to test converted/updated programs in S7 before exchanging to modern IO. But it failed on the update rate that will be half a second, at the best.
