DKC11 Ecodrive with third party motor

Hi everyone

I have a DKC110.-040-7-FW and need to test a third party servo motor witch the feedback is a simple tamagawa resolver without data. I have installed DriveTop 16V14 on my PC and can input the parameters of my motor. (Unfortunately, the DriveTop software lack a user manual)

The problem is the drive can not recognize my motor and continue with C204 error (motor type incorrect). I have examined all numbers from 1 to 7 (the max value) in P-0-04014 (the motor type parameter) and the error consist. I think the drive stuck in last motor specs (an MKD motor in my case) and does not change to third party motor.

Any Idia?

Maybe this Dokumentation will help you to install your 3rd Party Motor on an Ecodrive.
7 Years ago, i had a comparable use case, it was necesary to install a 3rd Party Motor on a Ecodrive. Although, my Drive was equipped with an EnDat / SinCos Encoder. Whether your application with a simple resolver will work or not, you may find in the attached dokument.

Of course you need also the installation manual for your specified Ecodrive Motor Controller. Is this a profibus device ? DKC have 2 Encoder interfaces: 1st one X4 for Resolver witch I²C Bus (System) and 2nd one is X8 for EnDat and Sin/Cos. Maybe the interfaces accept also something else, or, another encoder types. To find in your Device Manual.

I'm not familiar to German language, But I think it says on section "1.4 Welche Lagegebersysteme können für die jeweilige Motorart verwendet werden?" regarding to my case (two-pole resolver connecting to X4 port) nur einpolige Resolver möglich: only a single pole resolver is posiible.

By the way my ecodrive3 version is FWA-ECODR3-SGP-01VRS.

Your suggestion is correct. Although, you have the possibility to use EnDat, Sin/Cos, Incremental Encoders as well.
