Hi

We have a DKC11.3-040-7-FW and a MKD071 servo motor

The main problem is F228 error, after running good for some hours the error appears. Beside it every time the drive turn on, F248 (low battery error) appears (even when we use direct voltage (3.6) to the encoder board, so the battery is OK). of course F248 can be cleared pushing the reset button

Could it be any connection for these two errors?

Have anybody experienced the described situation?

Is the encoder broken?

Any idea?

Regards

Badil

Yes, I've read it before.
The remedies did not help.

Is there anyway to get sure of the encoder board function?

The motor is all right in jog operation, but when it is supposed to be in a specific position the error occurs after some sequence of moves.

You should fix the Error F248 first. You can change the Batery in the End of the motor.
If the Eror F248 is come, you must go to the Referenceposition with the drive. If there a difference between the real and the Position in the drive you can drive against the machanical End of your axis.

@Badil

Excuse me for answering in German. Now I see that you asked in English. My brain seems to translate something like that automatically without me noticing in which language it is written. Sorry,

Can you enlighten me more?
What do you mean drive against the mechanical end of your axis? (I assume that you said it as a remedy of F228 fault)

P.S. I have replaced the battery.

Der Fehler F248 wird vom Encoder erzeugt. Batterie tauschen. Bei einer Original Batterie wird ein Widerstand mitgeliefert. Batterie damit refreschen bevor sie eingebaut wird steht in der Anleitung.
Ansonsten mehrmals kräftig klopfen. Lithium Batterie

Dear Knaller
Thanks a lot
Now I have not F248 error and just F228.
How about this fault?
Do you think I need to replace the encoder board? (that would be a tough choice)
Is there any way to eliminate F228? Is F228 something like F220 and could not be eliminated?
I can jog the motor without any problem, but when I put it in the machine it repeatedly appears F228.
Hope your experience can help.
Regards

F228 means, that the motor isn't at a position where it should be, as you can read here. It is called contouring error. If a machine was running flawless and suddenly this error occurs, the reason for this could be a mechanical problem. If this error occurs right from the start there could be many different reasons. For example, the motor is too weak for this application, wrong parameters, wrongly configured/connected encoder and so on.

Thanks oliver
Your knowledge was very helpful for me.

We have two of this machine in our field both with identical motor, I swapped the other motor with the faulty one, there is no fault. So I assume that the problem is with the motor.
For the same reason it could not be cause of wrong parameters or like mechanical ones.

Unfortunately, (could I say) the wrong motor can be jogged in any speed and direction.

But let not to be hasty. I realized that in the the position loop monitoring isn't same in the faulty motor and healthy one. To be exact, whatever (no matter how much) I extend the monitoring window value (to avoid the maximum deviation), the deviation F228 occurres with faulty motor. As you said, I think this is counting error, because the motor can not stop in the specific position, however in my case it is not for mechanical reason.

The motor has been working for years on the machine and F228 is a newly occurrence.

Any idea?

Regards
