Hello Everyone,

I have been working with B&R Automation Studio 4.2 Database Example program. All I need to know is how can one use the Database function blocks with MSSQL Server. in Automation Studio I have tried setting the firewall and activated SQL Browser as I have browsed several videos online

I cannot in the first place using Dbconnect. I run into an error.

Infact I use B&R Industrie PC 2100 where in I can generally login with Windows authentication mode. All in all I just want to know if anyone has tried using B&R Automation Studio with Microsoft SQL Express and has successfully created a database and generated a table.

I would certainly avoid using third party software or OPC as its costly and pointless as I want to run the program locally and store it on local Industrie PC.

Sorry for long description. I have been trying last 7 weeks without any success . I hope someone can help me out by sharing a simple program and the steps they used to just connect to database and creating a table or editing would be great.

Hi siddharthdc,

please check your prerequisits. Several versions are supported but does it match with yours?
Did you try the sample code?
Did you call your local B&R office?

It is supported with AS 4.2 Version. I emailed them.IF you know any expert in B&R or a person who has worked with MSSQL and Automation Studio. It will be great help.
Sample code did not function. It failed to create a database. I suspect its unable to establish connection even though the Industrie PC 2100 and SQL server are on the same network.

I meant checking the database version since only few are supported but you probably did that. If you are looking for experts i recommend the direct access to your local B&R office.
Maybe you do not catch the expert at the first call but they will guide you. Good luck.
