Hello everyone

Is it possible to access Wago PFC 100 remotely using open VPN? All I want to do is to update code using ecockpit from my PC for a PFC 100 which is at a remote location. Please help with some detailed document as I am a beginner in networking.

Thanks

Good morning Mankal,

you need a VPN endpoint in the PLC network, e.g. a Router.
The router must provide a IP inside the PLC network to your PC after establishing your VPN.
Afterwards you can access the PLC like it's next to you PC on the desk.

After installing the VPN client software on your PC you will get a new network adaptor in your windows. This is a virtual adaptor. This will get via DHCP the IP inside the PLC network. So make sure no other adaptor in your PC uses this IP range. Otherwise Windows doesn't know where to route the traffic to.

Please provide more information:
Who/What is the VPN Server in the PLC network?
Which software do you use for establishing the VPN?

Regards
Jens

Hi Jens,

Thanks for elaborating how the solution should look like. In my case I have a wago plc 750-8100, it has inbuilt support for openvpn. I want to configure PLC as vpn server and configure my laptop/PC as client . i want to update code in PLC remotely from my laptop.

Here is application note to do some thing similar

But yet my setup is not working.

Thanks

Good morning,

as you already have a setup, please describe it. Do some screenshots of your settings. And please describe the exact problem: is tunnel established, but you cannot access the PLC or you can't establish the tunnel or .... ?

Regards
