Hi everyone, Is it possible to determine from the s7 project file what version of the software should be used? For example, if Simumotion scout is used in the project to configure the drives, how can the software version be determined?

Hello Davin.

In Simatic Manager, open the project, then in the root of the project tree, right-click select Properties and in the dialog that appears, select the tab 'Rquired Software Packages'. Run the check with the 'Execute' button. A list with required software packages will be generated.

Nur werden dort leider nur die Pakete angezeigt, aber nicht die Softwareversionen. Da wird man im Step7 Manager separat in den Objekteigenschaften schauen müssen ( Objekt markieren => Objekteigenschaften ).

Yes, usually you can check it in the project properties or hardware/device configuration. For SIMOTION Scout, open the project and look at the device info. Scout version and firmware are normally shown there. If it does not open properly, ask for the original archived project and the used software version. Siemens projects can be very version sensitive.
