QUESTION:
For no apparent reason I get a message from the SIMATIC NET Synchronization Service. How can I avoid this? ANSWER:
You get a message from the SIMATIC NET Synchronization Service that refers to the file SINEC2.LOG. The message comes from a pop-up mechanism that keeps on wanting to report an event which actually occurred in the past. Acknowledge the error message concerned as follows:
Open the "Event Display" via Start > Settings > Control Panel > Administration.
Mark "System Log" and then "Right click > Delete All Events".
You are prompted as to whether you want to save the "System Log". If you wish, you can save the events.
The events can then be displayed again later via "Procedure > Open Log File".
Note The following message is generated in the Sinec2.log file during computer startup:
The system sleep operation failed
11/15/2004 08:25:08 Event Type: E Event ID: 002B
In this case to acknowledge you also delete the event display as described above
